Pace’s CFO, Steven Miller, was named as a finalist in the Birmingham Business Journal CFO Awards, honoring chief financial officers across the Birmingham metro area. Doing much more than watching the bottom line, CFO’s recognize new business opportunities, manage risk, achieve growth, and act as the steward of financial stability for their company. There are twenty-four finalists across six categories distinguished by the amount of revenue each company brings in annually. The CFO finalists will be honored at a reception on June 13.
Steven joined Pace in 2011 as Controller and was promoted to CFO in May of 2015. He is currently responsible for Accounting and Finance operations as well as the company’s Risk (Human Resources, Safety, Compliance) and Systems/IT departments. Since Steven began his duties as Pace’s CFO, Pace has built out a solid team of top talent and continues on its journey of growth and profitability. Steven’s approach is to face challenges head-on to achieve positive outcomes for Pace. He is future focused, anticipating change and prepared to guide his teams through the progress of growth successfully.
In 2017, Pace founded its private foundation, The Pace Foundation, which is funded by the company’s annual profits. Steven was instrumental in the development of The Pace Foundation and takes an active role in its programs and development. The Pace Foundation aims to work with local non-profit organizations in each of Pace’s markets to give back to communities where the company operates. The Pace Foundation has three pillars of focus-rehabilitation, community revitalization, and education-and seeks organizations who are aligned with Pace’s Core Values. Steven is committed to supporting the development of The Pace Foundation to make an impact across all of Pace’s footprint.
