A Transportation Hub Then & Now

More than six million people call Atlanta home.  It is the ninth largest metropolitan area in the country.  Atlanta was founded in the mid-1800’s as the endpoint, or terminus, of a state-sponsored railroad.  Its original name, Terminus, was eventually changed to Atlanta because it was a central hub for the Western and Atlantic Railroad.  Atlanta has since grown its roots as a transportation hub with the emergence of Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport – the world’s busiest passenger airport for the last twenty years.

A Rich, Diverse History

Atlanta, Georgia is rich in history.  During the Civil War, Atlanta was almost completely burned to the ground but quickly rebuilt itself, evolving into the international center of commerce it is today.

During the 50’s and 60’s, the Civil Rights Movement blossomed  in Atlanta with native Atlantans, Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and Ralph David Abernathy, leading the way.   The 1996 Summer Olympic games took place there, and Atlanta is the global headquarters for The Coca-Cola Company, The Home Depot, Delta Air Lines, and UPS.

An Invigorating Culture

Atlanta’s international community provides a wide range of cultural experiences.  You can find something in Atlanta for all ages and interests!  From performing arts at The Atlanta Opera, Atlanta Ballet, The Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, The Center for Puppetry Arts, and The Alliance Theater to visual arts at the High Museum to professional sports like the MLB Atlanta Braves, the NFL Atlanta Falcons, the MLS Atlanta United, and the NBA Atlanta Hawks, there’s always something in Atlanta to keep you entertained, learning, and growing.

For the nature lovers, there’s 185 acres right in midtown at Piedmont Park, and for those who love music, you’ll discover that no matter your passion, Atlanta has it. Pace is proud to make such a diverse and historical city one of its homes, and we look forward to continuing our growth in this market!
