“Be the reason someone smiles” – Roy T Bennett, inspirational book author
Pace’s Chuck Rowe has strong feelings when it comes to serving others. “It’s about the positive impact it has on people,” Chuck said. “I truly enjoy being able to help, support, and uplift others, and making people smile is one of the most rewarding parts of my job.” A Sort Supervisor at Pace’s pool distribution facility in Atlanta, Chuck exemplifies Pace’s core value to serve relentlessly. “It’s about showing up with a positive attitude, being dependable, and doing whatever I can to make someone’s day a little better, whether that’s through leadership, teamwork, or simple acts of support,” he stated.
A five-year veteran in Pace’s system of solving logistics together, Chuck oversees the daily operations of the sortation team, managing and supporting personnel, and ensuring productivity and performance goals are met. He assists with outbound operations when needed and helps to maintain workflow efficiency and meet shipment deadlines.
Going Above and Beyond to Get the Job Done
“One example of how my team consistently goes above and beyond for our clients is the many times they have returned later in the day to run and process late trailers,” said Chuck. “Even after completing a full shift, the crew has stepped up to ensure that freight was still processed and moved forward without delays. This extra effort helps our clients stay on schedule, keeps freight flowing, and reinforces our commitment to reliability and service. Seeing the team willingly come together outside of normal hours truly reflects our dedication to supporting both our clients and Pace’s mission.”
Keeping the freight flowing requires teamwork. Strong leadership and teamwork are related, as effective leaders build trust, encourage great communication, and align diverse talents toward shared goals. “The teamwork I see every day is truly amazing,” Chuck commented. “I’m fortunate to work with an awesome team that moves in unison, supporting one another and working toward the same goals. That level of collaboration and trust makes a real difference in how smoothly operations run and makes coming to work each day enjoyable and rewarding.”
Mission Accomplished is the Name of the Game
Working closely with and being a part of his team is one of the aspects of the job that Chuck values. Having responsibility and being trusted to lead provides a strong sense of purpose and motivation. “Seeing the job completed successfully is rewarding. Mission accomplished is the name of the game. We love knowing that the results of our hard work made a real difference for both the operation and our clients,” he said.
Pace Core Value to Always Improve is Part of Chuck’s Approach
One of Pace’s core values is to always improve. Chuck approaches getting better each day by constantly planning and looking for new ideas to improve how he and his team work. He challenges himself to find better and more efficient ways to process freight, whether that means adjusting workflows, improving communications, or refining team practices. Focusing on continuous improvement by learning and listening to others reveals different ideas and perspectives. Researching new and effective process improvements helps keep operations running smoothly and provides experience and learning for him to grow both personally and in his work.
Outside of work, Chuck enjoys spending quality time with family and relaxing. “I’m a big football fan and love watching Ohio State and the Kansas City Chiefs,” he said. “I also enjoy playing Call of Duty online with my brother and sister, which is a fun way for us to stay connected. When I’m winding down, I like watching TV shows and movies with my wife Shavone, which helps me recharge and maintain a good work‑life balance.
