“The single biggest problem in communication is the illusion that it has taken place.”– George Bernard Shaw, Nobel Prize-winning playwright
“Get the job done” and “serve relentlessly” are the values Pace Executive Business Manager Rachel Releford brings to work each day. Her ability to stay calm under pressure, step into unfamiliar situations, and keep teams moving forward makes a meaningful behind-the-scenes impact across the business.
“Seeing how all the moving pieces of the business connect and helping bring alignment across teams is rewarding,” Rachel said. “No two days are the same, and I enjoy working with leadership, finance, operations, HR, and different business lines to help keep projects and priorities moving forward. Building relationships across departments is a big part of what makes the role meaningful.” She added that when everyone understands expectations and works toward the same goal, operations run more efficiently.
Rachel’s ability to keep teams aligned helps Pace operate cohesively. “Accountability and flexibility are what keep operations running smoothly. In logistics, things can change quickly, so having strong processes while also being willing to pivot when needed is critical,” she said. “Transparency across departments also helps solve issues before they become bigger problems.”
PACE Core Values: Get the Job Done and Serve Relentlessly
“PACE’s core values, ‘Get the Job Done’ and ‘Serve Relentlessly,’ resonate with me because they reflect the mindset I try to bring to work every day. In logistics, there are always challenges, shifting priorities, and situations that require people to step outside their normal responsibilities for the good of the team. I take pride in being someone who is willing to jump in where needed, help solve problems, and keep the business moving forward. That servant-minded approach and commitment to finding solutions are what help build strong teams and drive long-term success.”
Supporting PACE’s 3PL and Brokerage Initiative Stands Out
“One accomplishment I’m especially proud of is being able to step in and support different areas of the business during critical transition periods. In fast-moving industries like logistics, unexpected changes can happen quickly, and there have been times when we’ve lost key team members and needed immediate support to keep operations moving,” Rachel described.
“A moment that stands out to me was stepping in to help support the 3PL and brokerage side of the business with very little transition time. I had to quickly learn new processes, systems, and operational workflows so I could help stabilize day-to-day operations and support the team until we were able to bring in additional help. It reinforced how important adaptability, teamwork, and a willingness to jump in wherever needed are to keeping the business moving forward,” she said.
When she’s not connecting the dots for Pace teams, Rachel devotes her energy to her family. “I’m a wife, mom to two amazing girls, and dog mom to Bronny,” she said. “Most of my free time is spent with my family, working on home projects, going on walks, or planning our next adventure. I love staying busy, creating a welcoming home, and making memories with the people I love most.”
