Most good relationships are built on mutual trust and respect -Mona Sutphen, former White House Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy
“Building and cultivating relationships at the grassroots level is one of the things about my job I enjoy the most,” said Pace Logistics Supervisor and recent Culture Award winner Tavin Ash. “In every interaction with our customer and with our contractors, having a great relationship is important as we work to resolve issues and find solutions. When someone knows that their point of view or idea is being heard then trust is developed, and they know you are doing all you can to assist. Knowing how to communicate has served me greatly in my position with Pace,” Tavin said.
Since joining Pace in 2023, the “proof in the pudding” is the customer satisfaction for the towns of Tallahassee, Callaway, and Chipley Florida; Valdosta and Albany in Georgia; and Dothan Alabama that are Tavin’s responsibility. “I am out in my six markets on a regular basis, to build strong relationships with our customers and the contractors,” he said. “Tallahassee is the biggest market, so I spend more time there, of course.”
As a Logistic Supervisor for Pace’s dedicated route commercial parts operations, Tavin take pride in managing route effectiveness, making sure that Pace customers receive their parts correctly and on time. “When an issue arises it’s good to be part of the solution that produces favorable results,” Tavin exclaimed. “The great relationships and teamwork between our customers’ associates and Pace contractors provide a solid platform for delivering a top-notch customer experience “said Tavin. Checking in with his contractors on a consistent basis strengthens those relationships and “makes them feel like what they are doing is bigger than making deliveries and helps Pace day-to-day operations always improve, a Pace core value.
Another Pace core value – serve relentlessly, starts with solid relationships as well. “Usually all it takes is a little communication on my end and our contractors and willing to help each other providing superior service,” Tavin reported. “Our reputation for good working relationships is strong. I receive several calls weekly from contractors saying that they have heard nothing but good things about Pace and expressing their desire to become a Pace contractor.”
When he’s not building ever stronger relationships, delivering on customer experience, serving relentlessly, or striving to always improve, Tavin enjoys watching Florida State Seminole and Tampa Bay Buccaneers football, and getting of town to try new Greek and Mediterranean seafood restaurants.
As former Deputy Chief of Staff Mona Sutphen said, building mutual trust and respect goes a long way toward having great relationships. Having great relationships is the basis for finding the best solutions and improving the customer experience. Tavin Ash, Pace Culture Warrior, exemplifies Pace core values toward the goal for great relationships and the right solutions for Pace customers.
