Pace is proud to name another Culture Warrior of the Month, Brett Snider! Brett is a Data Analyst in Pace’s Pelham corporate office, working in the Business Intelligence Department. Brett was nominated by Shane Hill, Director of IT, who commended Brett for his efforts not only in his current role, but also in supporting others during recent rollouts across the Pace network.
Shane shared, “For Brett, it’s hard to pick one core value. But it boils down to Get the Job Done. Brett has been instrumental in transforming how Pace looks at data and drives decisions. That alone is worthy of a nomination. However, Brett has recently stepped up to assist the Systems team with the scanning process for several of our customers in pool distribution. There’s a great deal of hard work by the entire team to implement scanning, and time and time again Brett has stopped what he was doing to help. This dedication, determination and drive aligns with our core values, and I appreciate the above and beyond can-do attitude.”
As shown by his willingness to support Systems/IT during a crucial time, Brett is committed to Serving Relentlessly and Doing the Right Thing for the greater of good of Pace. Whether that means supporting a customer or a teammate, Brett is there to back up the team and work on solutions. Brett’s hard work and willingness to help are complimented by his drive to Always Improve. In his role as Data Analyst, he is looks at the numbers and analyzes Pace’s performance, but his larger goal is to get this data in a format that Pace leadership can use to make decisions that move our business forward. Brett’s focus is presenting the data he has in a way that can be easily understood and interpreted. His success in this role supports the entire company’s ability to Always Improve because when our leaders have the tools they need to identify areas of improvement, they can more successfully work towards the solutions.
Patrick McCarty, Director of Business Intelligence, shared, ” Brett makes a continuous efforts to improve the employee work experience, whether that is through system standardization, physical workflow, or creating concise and correct views into our business via dashboards. By doing so, Brett lives the Always Improve core value. I am constantly impressed by Brett’s drive to introduce efficiencies in all walks of Pace work life. “

What’s your favorite part about working for Pace? My favorite part about working for Pace is the teamwork. Within the IT/ BI departments, each team member possesses a unique skill set. We all took very different professional paths before arriving at Pace, and the variety of experiences and skill sets has helped us develop some creative solutions that would be impossible without the involvement of multiple team members on any given project.
Which core value do you identify most with? And why? The core value I identify with the most is Always Improve. I love working with data, and I really enjoy analyzing and presenting data in a way that allows people to make informed decisions. Continuous improvement goes hand in hand with data analysis, so I constantly work with people from all departments to understand the issues they face. I love using data analysis to develop solutions that address those pain points through automation, visibility, or process improvement.
What is one of your biggest accomplishments while working at Pace? While it is still in the early stages at this point, one of my biggest accomplishments at Pace to date has been the development of the LM Dashboard in Power BI. This tool addresses our 2020 company goal to improve how we capture daily financial and service numbers. As an added benefit, we are making huge strides towards our 2020 company goal of better operational discipline in our systems. This tool is pulling sixty sources of data to build out a more concise view of our operations on a daily basis. I believe that using the tool will give our Operators the insight they need to more fully understand their markets. It also reduces the number of places Operations needs to go to find the information they need to make decisions, making their work more efficient. It has been awesome to see the feedback and ideas that have come from the field, and the traction we have gained to date with this tool has far exceeded where I expected to be at this point in the year. I am excited to see how far we can take this tool as we continue to make improvements and automate data feeds.
What do you when you’re not at the office? When I am not in the office, I am either hunting, fishing, watching Alabama sports, or playing with my five-month-old black lab puppy, Darby.
